Theme Setup
-------------------------------------------------------------

Setting up Heartland is really easy. You just need to setup header background image and navigation links.

Header Background Image Setup
----------------------------------------------------------------------


When you'll install the theme, you'd see that header background image is not present. So you've to add the image as a widget. Follow these steps:

1- Go to "Page Elements" tab.

2- Edit the "HTML/JavaScript" widget right below your header widget. [See Picture]

3- Now you have a new window opened for this widget which is blank. [See Picture]

4- Now when you open the compressed downloaded archive, it has 3 files. Open the "HTML-JavaScript Widget Under Header Widget" which is a text file. [See Picture]

5- Copy all the code in "HTML-JavaScript Widget Under Header Widget" (Tip: Press 'Ctrl+A'). [See Picture]

6- Paste the code in the "HTML/JavaScript" widget. Now you've inserted the header background image. [See Picture]

Navigation Menu Setup

As you can see that there's a menu with different links like "About Me", "Blog", "Fun" etc. So here is the way to change them.

1- Go to "Edit HTML" section of your Blogger.

2- Search for <div id='categories'> and you'll find the menu code. [See Picture]

3- Now change the links according to this methodology: <a href='This is the address of this link' title='This text will appear when mouse is over the link'>This text will appear on your blog</a>

4- For example you can change "This is the address of this link" with "http://www.blogger.com/". When you'll click on this link, it'll take you to Blogger.

5- Similarly, you can change other values according to your wish!

Header Title Image Setup

You can have a text title as your blog title or a picture. I recommend you to use a picture because of the colorful background. However, by default, your blog title will be displayed on the blog header.

1- If I chose to show my text title (for example "Heartland") on my blog, it will not be very appealing. [See Picture]

2- Now I'll insert a picture as my title rather than text. I've used a heart as my logo which looks really nice. [See Picture]

3- The choice is yours!
